Equality in the U.S.A.
A poem of checks & balances
Yeah, she believes in equality, alright
She’ll give the same eye-roll
to both MAGA hats and BLM hashtags
She scoffs at CRT, C-“Replacement”-T,
and identity politics —
through her historical lens of critical theory
She judges us all as equals
for real
Present her with your green future, in vain —
your technocracy, your rare earth utopia —
or siphon some more cooking oil
It’s your wasted time
and breath
Question her gender,
guesstimate its fluidity,
or try to assign her a roll —
it makes no difference
Oh, she certainly has a plan for you
Flaunt your masks all you want,
do your scientific research,
sell your medicines,
isolate and martyr yourselves,
or concoct your conspiracy theories,
worship the Walking Carrot,
or lionize the Smooth-talking Caramel
She has oodles of popcorn and time
