Simplicity, yes, but I don't feel it's so much about control. It's an intrinsic biological call for rejoining our co-existence with nature as it should be. We've been led astray by trying to control nature's checks and balances.
And I don't think we're looking to reject each other as much as looking to reject this sick unnatural world that's developed from the Agricultural Revolution. Maybe we were wrong in domesticating plants and animals (and eventually ourselves) in the name of security and convenience around accessing food?
We might've had it right for milennia as hunter/gatherers as still crave that aesthetic.
